About Me

During my first stint in Brazil in 2008, the seemingly senseless and convoluted bureaucracy of everyday life was deeply frustrating. Over the years, that frustration turned into curiosity and a dedication to learning how to get things done.

Born and raised in San Francisco, I grew up in a very multi-cultural environment, but had little exposure to Brazilian culture until I took my first Portuguese class at Tulane University in New Orleans, where I studied History & Latin American Studies. During my studies, I lived in Brasília while working as an intern at the US Embassy.

After finishing my degree, I worked on the other side of the US-Brazil relationship, at the Brazilian Army Commission in Washington, which handles international procurement for Brazil’s army.

Next, I moved to Switzerland for a master’s in International Affairs at the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement in Geneva, before moving to São Paulo.

In São Paulo, I first worked for the Swiss Chamber of Commerce, assisting foreign businesses in Brazil, and later worked as an independent market entry consultant. To better serve me clients, I studied Accounting at a Brazilian university and currently hold license 1SP332816.

I then studied Brazilian law in Portuguese for 5 years at one of São Paulo’s most prestigious universities, and currently work as an attorney licensed to practice law throughout Brazil (OAB-SP 528407).

Throughout my career, I have accumulated the knowledge and licenses—but also the professional network—to be able to help foreigners get things done in Brazil.
